CROSSING BORDERS – Traversing Foreign Cultures for Safety

DUBLIN TOURING THEATRE PROJECT invites you to CROSSING BORDERS, part 2

Through drama, poetry, music and real life storytelling this multi-disciplinary event highlights the human challenges faced by traversing frontiers. Artists, writers and special guests reveal raw experiences of border crossing in Ireland and around the world be they physical, emotional, political or military.

Surrounded by a photographic exhibition of his experiences in Kosovo writer, musical and photographic artist Eamon Carr reads his poetry and recalls his time on the war front. He is joined by curator Eoghan Scally and singer Ken O’Duffy. Joining Eamonn to relate his experience of borders, Direct Provision and RISE (Refugees Ideas and Solutions for Europe) is Lassane Ouedraogo. Lassane is Chairperson of the Africa Solidarity Centre Ireland and an Academic Executive Officer with Connect Research Centre in TCD. Originally from Burkino Faso, he has been living in Ireland for the past 12 years.
